Literacy - Primary
Literacy
Literacy is at the heart of learning at Saltwater.
From the early years, students are explicitly taught the skills they need to become confident readers, writers, and communicators. Strong foundations in phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension grow into deeper reading, purposeful writing, and rich discussion.
Students use these skills to question, make connections, explore ideas, and communicate their thinking across all areas of learning.

We'd like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, meet, educate and communicate. In particular, the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land, and pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. We are truly grateful for this opportunity to share information with our community.
